IEPScore! is a platform provided by its creators ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using IEPScore!, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing IEPScore!. These Terms of Service apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service. Your continued use of IEPScore! following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account and use IEPScore!. By registering for an account and using the service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms of Service.
3. Description of Service
IEPScore! is an AI-powered platform designed to support parents and guardians of children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The service includes:
- Document upload and AI-powered analysis of IEP documents and evaluation reports
- AI chat assistance for understanding IEP content and special education terminology
- Meeting preparation tools and personalized checklists
- Goal progress tracking and IEP compliance review
- A rights reference guide covering federal IDEA procedural safeguards
- A glossary of special education terms and acronyms
- Push notifications and deadline reminders
- Additional resources and educational materials related to the IEP process
IEPScore! may add, modify, remove, or discontinue any features or aspects of the service at any time at its sole discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
4. Account Registration and Security
To use IEPScore!, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you. You agree to notify IEPScore! immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. IEPScore! will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
5. AI Disclaimer and Limitations
5.1 Not Legal, Medical, or Educational Advice
All AI-generated content provided by IEPScore!, including document analyses, chat responses, meeting preparation suggestions, and generated content, is for informational and educational purposes only. IEPScore! does not provide legal advice, medical advice, or educational advice. The AI-generated content is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified attorney, special education advocate, medical professional, educator, or other licensed professional.
5.2 No Professional Relationship
The information and content provided by IEPScore! does not create an attorney-client relationship, doctor-patient relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and IEPScore! or its creators. You should consult with a qualified attorney or licensed professional if you require professional advice.
5.3 AI Limitations
AI technology, while powerful, has inherent limitations. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. AI may produce errors regarding legal rights, school district obligations, procedural requirements, eligibility determinations, disability categories, service eligibility, or other matters related to special education law and regulation.
5.4 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all AI-generated content before relying on it or using it in any communication with schools, districts, or other parties. You must carefully review any AI-generated analyses, suggestions, or documents before using them. You assume all responsibility and risk for any decisions made or actions taken based on AI-generated content.
5.5 Professional Consultation Recommended
We strongly encourage you to consult with qualified professionals — including licensed attorneys, special education advocates, and other specialists — before making important decisions regarding your child's education, IEP, or special education rights. IEPScore! is designed to complement, not replace, professional guidance.
6. Subscription Plans and Payment
6.1 Plans and Billing
IEPScore! offers a free tier with limited access to features, including a limited number of AI chat messages and basic tools. Premium subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing to a premium plan, you authorize IEPScore! to charge the applicable subscription fee to your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel your subscription.
6.2 Free Trial
IEPScore! may offer a free trial period for new subscribers. Your payment method will be charged the applicable subscription fee at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends.
6.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your premium subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
6.4 Price Changes
IEPScore! may modify subscription prices at any time. If we increase the price of your subscription, we will provide you with at least 30 days' prior notice. If you do not agree to the price increase, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Intellectual Property
IEPScore! and its original content, features, functionality, design, and interface are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our platform without prior written permission.
7.2 Your Content
You retain full ownership of any documents and content you upload to IEPScore!. By uploading documents or content, you grant IEPScore! a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access, process, analyze, and store those documents solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to upload and share any documents or content.
7.3 AI-Generated Output
AI-generated content produced by IEPScore! in response to your documents and queries is provided for your personal, non-commercial use in connection with your child's education. You may share AI-generated content with family members, attorneys, advocates, educators, and other professionals involved in your child's education. You may not commercialize, resell, or systematically redistribute AI-generated output as a service to third parties.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use IEPScore! in any way that:
- Violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
- Uploads or transmits viruses, malware, or any other malicious code or content
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to or interfere with any part of the service
- Attempts to reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive the underlying AI models or source code
- Uses the service to build or provide a competing product or service
- Impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation
- Uploads documents you do not have the legal right to access or share
- Violates the intellectual property rights or privacy rights of any third party
9. Privacy and FERPA
Your use of IEPScore! is governed by our Privacy Policy. IEPScore! takes student data privacy seriously. Documents and data you upload are stored securely and accessible only to you. We do not sell your personal information or your child's educational records. By using IEPScore!, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy, including the processing and storage of your personal information and documents.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through account settings. Termination does not affect any obligations incurred prior to the termination date.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
IEPScore! is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IEPScore! and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any harm resulting from your use of the service or reliance on AI-generated content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by notifying you via email or through the service. Your continued use of IEPScore! after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
